PM3 winder from Progroup Sandersdorf with iSTOP+

iSTOP+
IBS Papertech, a member of the IBS Paper Performance Group, has achieved another milestone with its globally unique iSTOP+™ technology. The camera-based process for increasing the efficiency of winders has been successfully in operation since 2023 on PM3 at Progroup AG in Sandersdorf-Brehna (Germany), one of the world’s most modern and efficient paper mills.

The winder with double unwinding is under great production pressure. With the iSTOP+, a contactless and low-maintenance solution is now available to fully meet the challenges. Progroup employees Michael Rosinsky, Automation Engineer, and Steffen Gerbrand, Technology Project Manager, are delighted.

“The iSTOP+™ brings a noticeable improvement in the availability of the winder. Web marking system failures are no longer an issue since the retrofit. Operating costs have also been significantly reduced.” With TotalVision™, a camera-based total solution from IBS Papertech has been running on the PM3 since it was launched. Together with iSTOP+™, web monitoring and web inspection form a compact unit.

Thanks to a tailor-made service cooperation, this is always up to date and is continuously optimized. iSTOP+™ is a globally unique technology for increasing the efficiency of winders. The camera-based solution uses image processing technology to transfer the length code of a paper roll from the paper machine to the winder. No color marker is used and the associated costs and disadvantages are eliminated.
